Stylish Grade II property in the heart of Kirkby Lonsdale, offering luxury holiday accommodation.

I visited 3 Beck Head to photograph the rooms and exterior, ready for this beautifully renovated property to take its first steps onto the holiday accommodation market.

Using inspiration from an illustration created by a local artist I created a sophisticated yet quirky logo design using a colour scheme from the property interior.

Some graphic design followed on from this, including poster advertisements and brochure work to promote the property before what will no doubt be a busy summer season for them!

They listen to their clients’ requirements and deliver the highest-quality product. Their bespoke kitchens are hand-made in their workshop in Clapham, North Yorkshire, with the utmost care and attention.

Something a bit different for my portfolio! Love getting out of the office to photograph the first-class work these guys produce. A mixture of wide angle shots and close up details capture everything from the complete design to the tiny details that make each kitchen so special. Then it’s back to the laptop to edit each image to perfection!

Naturally a sleek and minimal new website was also in order to let the photos of their work do all the talking, with splashes of branding continued throughout to tie everything together.

Introducing snippets of graphic design work throughout their social media channels also ensures the strength and consistency of the company image, stepping their online presence up to the same sophisticated level as their craftmanship.

Josh came to me looking for a logo refresh for his new photography venture, Lune And Valley Photography.

There are a lot of stereotypical ‘camera’ logos out there but wanting to stand out from the crowd, we went abstract. Clean and modern… A nod to the typical camera and lens imagery… but something a little different. Looking forward to seeing this one get put to use!

Loco produce the best inflatable and composite stand up paddle boards designed and developed in Tynemouth on the UK’s North East coast.

They provide premium stand up paddle boarding equipment for all of the SUP disciplines including paddles, boards, accessories and packages catering for beginners through to pro riders.

I was initially recommended to Loco through a former colleague to help with the design of a new inflatable SUP product which needed to stand out from the rest. Being a surfer myself, this was nearing dream job territory for me so I leapt at the opportunity and have been on hand for Loco’s design work since!

Soon after the iSUP production came the requirement for a composite board design and then a wooden laminate board design, all with supporting magazine adverts, photograph retouching projects, vehicle graphics and digital website assets to promote the boards. I think it’s safe to say Loco boards really turn heads and the amazing compliments they’ve had have been testament to the product image we’ve created.

Morecambe Football Club is a professional football club in Morecambe, Lancashire, England. The team compete in League Two, the fourth tier of the English football league system.

I’ve been working with Morecambe FC since 2016 when I was introduced to the club as a freelance graphic designer to take up some of the excess design work that was required for each game - monthly fixture posters, newspaper adverts, scoreboard screens and so on.

Fast forward a couple of years and I’m now at the club on a weekly basis as the sole designer, working with direction from the commercial and hospitality departments to promote matches with posters, create signage for around the arena, design printed brochures for hospitality events and produce the front cover designs for the match programmes.

Recently had the pleasure of the UI design and branding on the new Cosmic Fusion mobile app - a comparability testing tool based on the Zodiac and Chinese Astrology. Alongside the UI design was a full set of icon artwork to be used within the app.

Unfortunately according to the app I’m only 22% compatible with Tom Hardy. Damn

A surfing trip to the East Coast wouldn’t be complete without a trip to one of our favourite surf shops. Secret Spot is one of the oldest in the country. Surfers and surfing may have changed but one thing has remained the same and that's Secret Spot provides the best kit surfers could ever want, with expert advice.

Last December ' King Of The Point ' debuted delivering possibly the biggest surf ever contested on the UK's East coast with conditions of 3 - 4 metres powering over the Scarborough points. Requiring a brand to take the contest further into the public eye, Secret Spot approached me to create a logo to represent the event.

Using the recognisable red, black and white brand colours of Secret Spot’s brand, I created a badge style logo with a Nordic theme to represent the frigid, brutal North Sea whilst sticking to a modern, bold graphical style on trend with the current times.

King Of The Point has just completed a second successful year and this time partnered up With Ripcurl and their Search project to deliver this unique event.

Working with architects, builders and estate managers, Arrow design innovative energy systems for the most sustainable and efficient generation and distribution of power and heat.

I originally worked with Alistair, owner of Arrow back in 2014 to develop a basic logo and a tiny startup website which offered no content management for Alistair to use for updating his news and case studies.

After a couple of years of successful growth, I teamed up with Neil of Creative Lakes to revisit Arrow and revamp both their branding and website into something more suited to their ever increasing needs.

With Neil taking care of the marketing and content side of things, I began by creating a handful of fresher, more modern logo ideas. A quick meeting and a few rounds of developments left us with a slick new design to base the brand around.

I then began work on the new website, focusing on the case studies at the heart of the project and showcasing the incredible projects undertaken by their team. With a simple, intuitive content management system in the background, Alistair can now easily update his website content himself, whenever it suits.

Over the past 35 years, Dove Nest Group has developed and delivered world-class training and development solutions that enable organisations to unlock their potential through the development of their people.

Dove Nest Group approached me to initially create an infographic image for use on LinkedIn to promote their services. This led on to further infographic work and the design and supply of some large banners to further promote themselves.

Using the original Dove Nest Group brand colours I aimed to create bold, friendly looking visuals to draw in attention, without overcrowding with too much information.

Magma Sauces is all about freshness and simplicity as sometimes sauces can loose that chilli flavour by over complicating recipes. All of their sauces are home-made in small batches using the freshest chillies, along with a few other vital ingredients. Most importantly they don’t use any flavour enhancers, thickeners or preservatives.

It used to be all about coffee, and then craft beer was the rage amongst foodies. Hot sauce has been the latest to follow the trends! Magma Sauces, working alongside White PR & Marketing, enquired with the challenge of rebranding their hot sauce products with an image in-keeping with the homemade, small batch style of Magma.

Utilising a warm colour scheme and a quirky, hand-stamped style the new Magma Sauces logo was born. After a handful of initial draft ideas and some re-working of our favourite ideas, we all settled on what we felt was a vibrant, eye catching design that fitted the company profile perfectly.

Once the brand style had been decided, I designed and supplied a batch of business cards and double sided flyers with a large scale printed banner - all the components required for a successful first season of promoting the new-look Magma at food festivals and markets.

The final task was a social media cover photo for Facebook, ensuring customers recognised the product on first glance.

Boom Dang is famous for their high energy performances and complex rhythms. Performing with BIG drums, tuned percussion and choreography, they play their own mix of Drum + Bass, Bhangra, Hip-Hop, Latin, Drumline, Merengue, Afro-Beat and Moroccan Trance.

Working alongside White PR & Marketing, I was offered the chance to create a visual identity for The Boom Dang Foundation. Their Director Therese had a couple of ideas she initially presented to me. Ideally red or green in colour, and showcasing the infamous boom dang drums, the logo should look ‘street’ whilst being suitable for a corporate audience (to suit team building days etc.)

A quirky mixture but I think we found the right balance!

I then designed and printed a batch of 250 business cards and 250 double sided flyers (thanks to Lizzie @ White PR & Marketing for supplying written content), creating a perfect combination to get the new Boom Dang brand out into the public eye.

A health haven that offers a wide range of high quality, ethically sourced products including vitamins and minerals, herbal supplements, health foods, herbal teas, natural body care and eco products.

As one of the few remaining independent shops left on the Lancaster high street, I was thrilled to be set the task of rebranding Your Health Store.

With a very open brief I created an array of initial logo ideas for the client, and with a few tweaks the team were delighted with the final logo design.

I proceeded to translate this into artwork for the shop front, comprising a large shop front sign and a hanging bracket sign for increased visibility on the high street.

To coincide with the new shop launch I collaborated with White PR & Marketing for content writing and designed a promotional discount flyer to reward customers for their support which I supplied printed alongside a fresh batch of double sided business cards. A perfect bundle for the new launch!

With the hosting of an upcoming Wedding Fair event, Heysham Golf Club required the design and print supply of a brochure to promote the Club as a top wedding venue.

A roller banner design provided an eye-catching focal point for further promotion at the fair, providing large scale advertisement with the ability to fold away into a compact case for transportation and storage.

I have lots of experience in the design of websites, apps and interfaces.

Prior to becoming a freelance designer I worked for Hut8 Strategic Mobile designing mobile app interfaces and dashboards.

Here I was asked to create the flow and screen interfaces for a mobile and tablet app for a new beer trade ordering app - the very first of its kind.

The app takes publicans through the process of product selection and order submission - a system that won Hawkshead Brewery the category for Best Customer Support at the SIBA business awards 2015.

I’m currently proud to be working with Ibex Creative in Kendal as their website designer, a position I’ve held since Jan 2016.

After completing my Art Foundation course I studied Illustration at the University of the West of England in Bristol before taking on employment in the field of graphic design.
